Written in 2019, this piece grew out of a single exhausting Facebook argument — about antisemitic tropes and Israel — with a well-meaning liberal man who wouldn't listen. As a scholar of antisemitism and a Jew, the author draws the line between fair criticism of Israeli policy and the older, more dangerous tropes that turn anti-Zionism into antisemitism, and asks what it costs to have to make that case, over and over, to people who won't do their own homework.

A national live storytelling series that gives motherhood a microphone: essays are written in advance, workshopped with a director, and performed live and memorized on a theater stage. After performing in the Philadelphia production, I directed the Wilmington, Delaware production — curating and shaping original essays that explored every dimension of motherhood: the experience of being a mother, and the experience of having one.
